Simulation for the Quality and Bankability of PV systems

SISIFO is a simulation tool to design PV grid-connected plants and PV irrigation systems using models and inputs and showing results oriented to assure their quality and to increase its bankability.

Some concepts

Bankability of PV systems:

Bankability means mechanisms of project finance, contractual frameworks and payment according to due diligences.

A project finance is based on the PV plant profitability, i.e., on the PV plant production. So it is necessary to estimate the energy yield with a simulation tool.>

And Due Diligence means, in the one hand Quality control in the different steps of the PV plant construction. In the other hand, it also means to assign responsibilities in case of underperformance, so the simulation tool and the quality control tests must use just parameters guaranteed by the manufacturers.

SISIFO fulfils these requirements because:

It uses just model inputs guaranteed by the manufacturers

It uses models validated with actual measurements in the framework of the quality control of more than 75 PV plants totalizing more than 500 MWp.

The accuracy of the models and the different scenarios of losses allow to reduce the uncertainty of the estimation.
